HTC Windows Phone 8X review

HTC Windows Phone 8X review

        The Windows Phone 8X by HTC, to give it its proper title, is a poorly named handset, but don't let this put you off what looks to be a promising Windows Phone 8 device.The phone is furthered enhanced by the blue/purple finish HTC has put on the Windows Phone 8X, and it's nice to see an injection of colour in a market which has been recently dominated by black and white slabs.HTC will also be offering the 8X in a fetching neon yellow as well as the traditional black, with the US getting treated to a red version via Verizon.
At 10.6mm you may be concerned that the Windows Phone 8X is going to feel pretty chunky went put up against the likes of the 7.6mm iPhone 5, 8.6mm Samsung Galaxy S3 and 8.9mm HTC One X, but the tapered edges ensure a deceptively slim appearance.
The slightly rounded back nestles comfortably in the hand, and the polycarbonate chassis provides a decent level of grip, similar to the One X, which we prefer over the cheaper feeling and more slippery plastic back of Galaxy S3.The Windows Phone 8X is evenly weighted, making it well balanced in the hand, with enough weight to make it feel like a premium handset without being overly heavy.

We were impressed with the design Nokia chose for the Lumia 800, but that now feels aged in comparison to the 8X, and we also prefer it over the new Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 handsets.
Up top you'll find a 3.5mm headphone jack next to the power/lock key, which isn't difficult to press, but we've come to prefer the top right location for this button, as it makes it that bit easier to hit when holding the phone in one hand.The right side of the HTC 8X sports a microSIM tray, volume rocker switch and lower down, a dedicated camera shutter button – something we don't see all too often these days, but it is an option which commonly features on Windows Phone devices.
You'll need to pop that SIM tray out with the handy tool (read paperclip) which comes in the box, which is easy enough as long as you don't misplace the bloody thing – as it's pretty darn small.
On the left you're treated an uninterrupted view of the smooth, rounded edge of the Windows Phone 8X, while on the base there's a centrally located microUSB port – far better than the location of the same port on the One X, which was on the left side and made using the handset while plugged in an uncomfortable experience.

Some will be disappointed to learn that while the 8X comes with 16GB of internal storage, there's no microSD slot present on the handset, meaning you won't be able to expand your storage options.
This could prove problematic for those with large music collections or a passion for HD movies on the go, with the provide space filling up fast.Round the back there's an 8MP camera with single LED flash and full HD video recording, and HTC says its tinkered with the snapper to provide better quality snaps – something we'll put to the test in our full, in-depth Windows Phone 8X review.
There's also a front facing camera located next to the colourful earpiece, and while at 2.1MP it's not the worst front camera on the market, we'd still recommend the rear option for serious snaps.Connectivity wise HTC has spoilt use with NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and DLNA all available on the 8X, plus there's an FM radio stuffed inside the body too.
The 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 display, which offers up 720p HD resolution, appears bright and clear, with strong colour reproduction and crisp text all making for a pleasing viewing experience.We were only able to admire the lock and home screen of Windows Phone 8, as the 8X we got a grip on didn't have a final build of the WP8 software, but in terms of screen quality it's so far, so good.As with the likes of the One X and One S, the HTC Windows Phone 8X doesn't provide you access to the sealed 1,800mAh battery – but it's a decent size which should mean it'll see you through a day of relatively high usage without you having to dash for the charger.

Apple iOS 6 Vs. Android 4 Vs. Windows Phone 8. Which OS is for you?

         Today’s world has become so hi tech that no work can be done without internet , PC’S , tablets and Mobile Phone. Three top operating system in the market on which all the gadgets and computers are running named as Windows, iOS6 and Android.A lot of this has to do with huge increases in technology relating to hardware, especially in higher end phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and many others which are powered by quad core processors.
what is the difference between Android 4.0, Windows Phone 8 and Apple iOS 6?

INTERFACE AND LAYOUT

Windows Phone 8 improves upon the currently used “Live Tiles” of Windows Phone 7. The live tiles are squares located on the home screen that display information from different apps, such as the music player, social networks, messaging and so on. These ’tiles’ can be customised in terms of colour, size, location on the screen and what information is displayed.
Android 4 has continued its use of widgets in its home screen, with the latest Android update making these widgets easier to move and resize. These widgets work similar to the tiles of Windows Phone and can be customised in terms of information displayed, location on the screen, size and so on.
Apple iOS 6 has once again continued its simplicity model with no widgets or tiles, but just applications in a grid layout, a notification centre that can be accessed via swiping the screen downwards or via the lock screen, as well as the integration of Siri and social networking (Twitter) in most applications.

BROWSER:-
Windows Phone 8 will use the latest version of Internet explorer (v10.). The aim of this is to bring a whole new level of security to the mobile browsing forefront, with features including a phishing filter and smart screen service making it harder for tracking by dodgy websites.
Android 4 comes with the usual Android browser, however future devices are expected to come with the Chrome browser, recently released as a mobile application. The standard browser comes with standard browsing features like tabs and offline reading, while Chrome ports over many desktop features and also offers synchronisation between devices.
Apple iOS 6 brings more features the the acclaimed Safari mobile browser, including the integration of iCloud, offline reading, tab synching, bookmark synching, smart app banners for better app promotion and more.

MEDIA AND STORAGE:-
Windows Phone 8 will be offering Micro SD card support, which brings about greater storage capacities and easier media transfers and access. This will also support the installation of apps onto the micro sd card. Windows Phone 8 will support resolutions of 1280 x 768, 1280 x 720 and 800 x 480.
Android 4 now offers a smooth 60fps across the whole interface, bringing better gaming and media playback. Google play brings in access to music, movies, applications, games and ebooks. Many android devices already include Micro SD support, however all media from Google Play is stored online and accessible at any time.
Apple iOS 6 does not include MicroSD support, but this is usually made up for by the large amount of flash storage offered by Apple devices. Apple has also been pushing the integration of iCloud and the iTunes Match service, keeping your music in the cloud and leaving more free space on your device.  The iPhone 4 screen size is currently rather small for media consumption, however rumours are speculating regarding a larger iPhone 5 screen with a higher resolution. Although, the retina display on new Apple devices is impressive.

MAPS
Windows Phone 8 has moved away from Bing Maps, and has integrated the Nokia Mapping System. This will bring 3D street navigation, as well as the acclaimed Nokia Navteq Traffic Service that monitors and displays relevant traffic information.
Android 4.0 as expected continues to use Google Maps, with features including street view, 3d and indoor mapping, integration with the Google Now service as well as sat nav and appointment features.
Apple iOS 6 has always used the Google mapping service under the application Google Maps, however in iOS 6 Apple has decided to ditch Google Maps and use a new system that provides turn by turn navigation, integration with the Yelp business listing service, support for voice control, siri integration, the ability to send your location and more.

NFC TECHNOLOGY
NFC technology allows for the use of mobile devices to be used as a method of receiving and sending payments and information.
Windows Phone 8 has introduced Microsoft Wallet, which will make use of NFC technology included in supported handsets. This will allow for various applications such as paypal and bank applications etc. to deal with immediate and on the go transfers of money and information.
Android 4 has introduced Android Beam and Google Wallet, which allow for the instant sharing of contacts, applications, media, and more between to phones using NFC technology. Android Beam has been updated in 4.1 to allow for instantaneous transfers and pairing.
Apple iOS 6 introduces Passbook. This app is not totally NFC based but provides the same features, including the storage of tickets to events, flights and so on, credit card access and constant access in one place. Apple is expected to announce NFC capabilities when the iPhone 5 is released.

CAMERA
Windows Phone 8 is getting a cleaner, simpler camera application. The app includes a menu button that allows you to access various camera settings. Nokia handsets that feature PureView technology will also bring amazing photo capabilities to Windows Phone devices.
Android 4 features a faster camera system that includes a fast review system, making for better and quicker editing and removing images. The new app includes various scene modes, as well as customisable whir balance and exposure so you can create the perfect shot in any circumstance. Other features include panoramic mode as well as photo editing and zero shutter lag.
Apple iOS 6 works upon the iOS native Camera application and continues the simplicity element with most settings being sorted automatically and out of sight. Focus and flash settings are automatic but can be adjusted. There are no confirmations of a physical shutter button on the iPhone 5, however the new iOS 6 allows the use of the up volume button as a physical shutter button.

TABLETS AND OTHER DEVICES
Windows Phone 8 is being paired of with the Microsoft Surface Tablet running Windows 8, but there has been no word of a Windows Phone 8 tablet. Windows is expected to further tie the link between tablet and mobile devices in the future.
Android 4 has been used on a range of devices from small smartphones to large smartphones, tablets, gps systems, hdtv devices and more. Fortunately for android users, this makes for easy synchronisation and streaming between Android devices using one of the many apps available.
Apple iOS 6 will also be available on the Apple iPad. Both the iPhone 5 and iPad provide airplay features that allow for media streaming to computers using iTunes or to the popular streaming device, the Apple TV.

Intel hosts Windows 8 tablet event next week: Dell, HP, Samsung and more

Intel hosts Windows 8 tablet event next week: Dell, HP, Samsung and more

          Ahead of Microsoft's big reveal next month, Intel's hosting an event on September 27th, bringing together Windows 8 tablets from ASUS, Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and even ZTE -- a manufacturer that hasn't yet officially revealed any plans for Windows 8. The chipmaker also promises to offer up more details on its next-generation Atom processors. We'll be there, reporting live from the event next week.Intel is going to kick off the season of the Windows 8 tablet by hosting an event next week attended by virtually all of the major PC players.The September 27 event will highlight products using Intel's "Clover Trail" Z2760 (PDF) power-efficient system-on-a-chip (SoC) processor.
     "A media event to showcase the latest Intel-based tablet and tablet convertibles, and announce details about the next generation Intel Atom processor (formerly code-named 'Clover Trail')," Intel said in a note sent out to journalists.Intel's Erik Reid, general manager of Application Processor Platforms in the Mobile and Communications Group, will host the event at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Joining him will be executives from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and ZTE, according to Intel. Those companies will showcase new devices.
      Tablets and convertibles using the new Intel chip will come with the full version of Windows 8, which can run virtually anything a Windows 7 laptop can. This differs from tablets based on Windows RT: those devices cannot run so-called "legacy" Windows software.

Inside the iPhone 5

 iPhone 5 is Thinner,Faster and Lighter:-

A6 chip:
It's faster! (duh). Here's a summary of what Apple says. "Up to twice as fast compared with the [iPhone 4S' A5 chip]...The A6 chip also offers graphics performance that's up to twice as fast as the A5."Problem is, Apple doesn't say much beyond that. So, I asked Anand Shimpi from chip review site Anandtech.It turns out that Anand's initial guess was wrong. Based on the performance gains, he initially believed the A6 used an ARM Cortex-A15 design. That's the latest and greatest from ARM, the chip architecture that powers virtually all of world's major-brand smartphones.But in a post on Saturday, he says that's not the case."It turns out I was wrong," he wrote.
"Based on a lot of digging over the past couple of days, and conversations with the right people, I've confirmed that Apple's A6 [chip] is based on Apple's own ARM based CPU core and not the Cortex A15,"
The upshot is that the A6 can't be pegged to any current ARM chip design because Apple has taken design liberties. This approach is similar to what Qualcomm has done with its Snapdragon S4, which isn't based on any particular ARM chip design.The graphics processing unit is less clear but Anand believes it could be using faster Imagination PowerVR SGX543 cores.Another analyst believes Apple is able to balance increased performance with decent battery life because of tweaks done independent of the main central processing unit, or CPU. LTE/4G/3G: Apple makes some pretty impressive claims about battery life. Despite 4G LTE's reputation for sucking the life out of smartphone batteries in short order, Apple says battery life, if anything, is a little better compared to the iPhone 4S.
Internet use: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 8 hours on LTE, up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi," according to Apple.That probably has more than a little do with Qualcomm's newest silicon. Apple's A6 is paired with Qualcomm's single-chip 28-nanometer MDM9615 LTE, according to Anand.

"Apple claims support for EDGE, EV-DO, HSPA, HSPA+, DC-HSDPA and LTE. The WiFi gets updated to dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11a/b/g/n, using 20MHz channels Apple can hit a peak link rate of 150Mbps over WiFi".

iOS 5 update, iOS 6 on the way:-
The iPhone 4 shipped with iOS 4, but can now be updated to iOS 5 via iTunes. This update adds things like a new notifications system and management options, iCloud support, and the iMessage messaging system. You can find a full roundup in Everything you need to know about iOS 5.
Apple has confirmed that iOS 6 will be available for the iPhone 4 in the fall. This will bring lots of new features and a new Maps app, Passbook for tickets, and a host of other improvements. A few things, like Siri and FaceTime on your cellular network, will not work on the iPhone 4, however. You can find out more in iOS 6.

13-inch MacBook Pro Retina with that iPhone 5

Apple suppliers have started shipping a 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro with Retina display, according to Digitimes.The smaller version of the laptop with boosted display is expected to be released this month or next, the paper said, citing sources from the upstream supply chain.
Digitimes also said Apple was prepping revamped iMacs, but has delayed plans for an updated "high-end model" due to "poor yields." Cupertino will instead focus on mid-range and entry-level iMacs, the paper said, but few other details were available.
Apple unveiled a 15.4-inch version of its MacBook Pro with Retina display at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June. The screen comes in at 2,880-by-1,800 and 220ppi, which Apple's Phil Schiller said makes it the world's highest-resolution notebook.

Apple is working on another Retina display MacBook Pro model, this time with a 13-inch display - and it could be with us as early as October.
A 15-inch version was unveiled by Apple at its WWDC event and has already begun shipping here in the UK, with a price tag of up to £3000. A smaller 13-inch version would feasibly lower the cost and make it more available to a wider audience.
An analyst has told AppleInsider that a 13-inch Retina display MacBook Pro will be marginally thinner than its 15-inch sibling, at 18mm thick, and will house Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics and an Ivy Bridge processor of two GHz.
Until such time as the cost of a Retina display MacBook Pro becomes more affordable, it’s difficult to see Apple retiring its existing lower-resolution display variants. Indeed, Apple used its WWDC event to reveal an upgraded version of both its exiting 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros.By showcasing the Retina display on the 15-inch MacBook Pro, Apple has demonstrated that it can be done and a 13-inch version would be a logical step. Yet for it to become the standard for all future MacBook Pros, we feel Apple will need to find some way of reducing the cost.

Samsung Galaxy S3 review

Samsung Galaxy S3
The good: The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes fully loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 4G LTE/HSPA+ 42 capability, a zippy dual-core processor, and a strong 8-megapixel camera. S Beam is an excellent software enhancement, and the handset's price is right.

The bad: The Galaxy S3's screen is too dim, and Samsung's Siri competitor, S Voice, disappointed.

The bottom line: Pumped with high-performing hardware and creative software features, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is an excellent, top-end phone that's neck and neck with the HTC One X.
With the Samsung Galaxy S III (S3), Samsung has done it again. For the third consecutive year, its flagship Galaxy phone is a tidy package of top-flight specs, approachable design, steady performance, and compelling pricing. Starting its U.S. sales debut with five carriers -- Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular -- makes this smartphone nearly ubiquitous. Samsung's aggressive distribution strategy gives it a leg up against its chief Android rival, the HTC One X, but it fails to sweep HTC's finest, and Apple fans will scoff at Samsung's imitation Siri.

That isn't to say that the Galaxy S III (henceforth also known as the GS3) does not impress. From the outside in, it has a large, vibrant HD display; Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; a sharp 8-megapixel camera; 4G LTE or HSPA+ support; a zippy dual-core processor; and tons of internal memory and 2GB RAM. The $199.99 price tag for the 16GB version is highly competitive, and that, along with its carrier spread, makes the GS3 priced to sell.

Some have slammed Samsung for formulaic specs and design, and to some extent, the critics are correct. Samsung isn't setting hardware standards with new creations, and the GS3's software additions, while interesting and useful, mostly build off existing Android capabilities. Regardless, Samsung has continued to produce stronger subsequent models than its first Galaxy S home run. There's a reason why the Galaxy S II sold over 50 million units worldwide, and why the GS3's preorder sales smashed U.K. records. Samsung clearly has its formula worked out for making higher-end features familiar, expected, and easily within reach -- and in the all-around excellent Galaxy S3, it shows.
The GALAXY S III will be available for purchase in Canada starting on June 20, 2012. Samsung is pleased to be working with all of the leading wireless providers in Canada, to give our customers a choice of service provider. Olympics 2012 london

           The London Olympics Opening Ceremony 2012 schedule kicks off at 9 p.m. London time (4 p.m ET) on Friday, July 27 and will be broadcast on NBC at 7 p.m. ET. It will run no more than three hours according to IOC executive director Gilbert Felli, ensured mysteriously by "some device to try to accelerate the march."

Ceremony:-
          The Opening Ceremony is a celebration showcasing the best of the Host Nation. It also features a parade of all competing nations and the highly anticipated entrance of the Olympic Flame, which ignites the Cauldron and signals the start of the Games.

                The eyes of the world will be on London for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The Ceremony will provide an opportunity for the world to view the artistic expression of the Artistic Director (Danny Boyle) and his team, and the culture of our Host City and the UK. There are certain elements that must feature in every Ceremony, as outlined in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) charter. The artistic performance of the Ceremony then gets underway and welcomes the world to the London 2012 Games.

Receiving the Head of State
            The Head of State of the Host Country is received at the entrance of the Olympic Stadium by the President of the IOC. For the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, Her Majesty the Queen will be greeted by Jacques Rogge.
Parade of Athletes
A procession of the participating teams in the Stadium, nation by nation. Teams enter in alphabetical order, according to the language of the Host Country, apart from the Greek team, which enters first for the Olympics, and the team of the Host Nation (in this case Team GB), who march in last.
Speeches
     Once all the nations have arrived into the Stadium, LOCOG Chair Seb Coe will give a speech, followed by Jacques Rogge. They will end their speeches by inviting the Head of State to officially declare the Games open.
Olympic Anthem and Flag
Once the Games have been declared open, the Olympic Flag is then carried into the Stadium and hoisted into the air as the respective Anthem is played. The Olympic Charter states that each flag must fly for the entire duration of the Games – placed in a prominent position in the main Stadium.

   The worldwide broadcast will begin at 9 p.m. local time.

Hardware

Hardware:
                   Computer hardware is the collection of physical elements that comprise a computer system. Computer hardware refers to the physical parts or components of computer such as monitor, keyboard, hard disk, mouse, etc...

Processor:
 @ it is heart of the computer.
 @ Central processing unit (CPU), an electronic circuit which executes computer programs, containing a
      processing unit and a control unit.
            Processors can be identified by two main parameters: how wide they are and how fast they are. The speed of a processor is a fairly simple concept. Speed is counted in megahertz (MHz), which means millions of cycles per second—and faster is better! The width of a processor is a little more complicated to discuss because there are three main specifications in a processor that are expressed in width. They are
  • Internal registers
  • Data input and output bus
  • Memory address bus
 when we buy a processor then must see the
# Speed
# Width
# FSB
# Cache memory
Speed:- It is  taking the Processor to execute the instruction is called speed.
Width: The amount of data(Bits) that the Processor can tranfer at a time.
              Ex: 16 Bits.32 Bits and 64 Bits
FSB:(Front side bus):-Is a computer communication interface (bus).It carry data between the central processing unit (CPU) and a memory controller hub, known as the northbridge.Depending on the implementation, some computers may also have a back-side bus that connects the CPU to the cache. This bus and the cache connected to it are faster than accessing the system memory (or RAM) via the front-side bus.
Cache memory:- A Cache used by the central processing unit of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory. The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the data from the most frequently used main memory locations. As long as most memory accesses are cached memory locations, the average latency of memory accesses will be closer to the cache latency than to the latency of main memory.
Cache Memory is divided into 2 levels of cache.
1.L1 Cache(Level 1 Cache)
2.L2 Cache(Level 2 Cache)
Present the available cache are L1 Cache is 512 Kb
                                                L2 is 8 MB
Mother Board:-
 Components are:--
   * Processor Slot/Socket
   * Memory modules
   * Input Output Ports
   * Chip sets
   * Expansion Slots
   * Reserved Slots
   * CMOS Battery
   * IDE/SATA Connectors
   * Heat sink
